Fruit Shoot #Stunthunt

Some children play outside all day long, from morning ’til night, only stopping for a quick bite to eat – then they’re back at it until you have to drag them in for bedtime.

Mine?

I have to drag them out of the house.

We have a swingset, soccer goal, batting target thingy, skateboards, roller blades, bubbles, frisbees … and the list goes on and on.

But unless a neighbor friend rings the doorbell and invites them to play, it’s like they don’t know what to do with themselves. It’s the darndest thing.

Then I was asked to submit a video for a new Fruit Shoot #StuntHunt promotion, and you know what?

They had fun!

I’m not the most creative person in the world, but my kids – whoa! They threw out all these amazing ideas, the only catch was we needed to 1) use a ball, and 2) involve Fruit Shoot.

What we decided on was target practice! We lined up their empty Fruit Shoot bottles onto the deck railing, and brought out five or six different types of balls, oh and a neighbor friend, because – well, how can we say no when a friend wants to play?!

Here are the fun results of our own Fruit Shoot #StuntHunt:

Don’t let us have all the fun, you can too! Pick up a few bottles of Fruit Shoot and shoot your own video for a fun #StuntHunt competition, capturing your kids having fun with any type of ball, and Fruit Shoot!

Your child’s video could be chosen to have special animation added – Hollywood-action style, like this:

Indiana State Fair 2014Yesterday my kids and I had a fun day with other bloggers at the Indiana State Fair, hosted by Indiana’s Family of Farmers. We enjoyed breakfast and milkshakes from Indiana Dairy and lunch from Indiana Beef, toured the newly renovated coliseum and so much more.

I’ve got both an Indiana State Fair ticket giveaway plus some great highlights to the Indiana State Fair that I wanted to share with you!

Fake Camping

If you’ve been a reader for a while, you’ve gotten small glimpses of my children. I’ve shared some of their favorite games and books, recipes they’re actually willing to eat, and they’re even in a few pictures now and then.

It’s no joke that parenting is not easy. Like many families, we don’t have a lot of blissful meals together. One child (or all three) hops up when the doorbell rings, someone is complaining about the meal, there are a multitude of interruptions when any of us are trying to speak, and it’s an all-around hot mess.

It’s … chaos.

So when I have friends that have these amazing family vacations and camping trips and make nothing but lasting memories, I either don’t believe them, or I envy them.

Take camping for example. We’re just not ready for The Real Thing. So what did we do instead?

We “fake” camped. [click to continue…]
