If you’ve been a reader for a while, you’ve gotten small glimpses of my children. I’ve shared some of their favorite games and books, recipes they’re actually willing to eat, and they’re even in a few pictures now and then.
It’s no joke that parenting is not easy. Like many families, we don’t have a lot of blissful meals together. One child (or all three) hops up when the doorbell rings, someone is complaining about the meal, there are a multitude of interruptions when any of us are trying to speak, and it’s an all-around hot mess.
It’s … chaos.
So when I have friends that have these amazing family vacations and camping trips and make nothing but lasting memories, I either don’t believe them, or I envy them.
Take camping for example. We’re just not ready for The Real Thing. So what did we do instead?

UPDATE: This giveaway is now closed. Congrats Holly E.!
I can’t believe it’s been a year and a half since the first Earth Fare opened in Indiana (Noblesville, to be precise). The following summer their 2nd Indiana store opened in Carmel. Now a year later, they got wise and entered the south side area near Greenwood, Indiana; an area lacking in options for natural and organic groceries.
Earth Fare Greenwood has come in with a bang, and a new look – from their spiffy new logo in the photo above, to a different look & feel when you walk into the new store. Gone is the huge food philosophy sign, but no worries – their philosophy is safe & sound, sprinkled throughout the store, and includes:
- No high fructose corn syrup.
- No artificial fats. Or artificial trans fats. Or artificial colors. Or artificial flavors. Or artificial sweeteners. Or artificial preservatives.
- No bleached or bromated flour.
- No antibiotics or synthetic growth hormones in their fresh meat or dairy.
Quite frankly, if a product carries any of the above, you will not find it on their shelves.
