Yoplait Long Love Fruit

As most parents of picky eaters know, you strive to find healthy foods for your kiddos to eat. Sugary cereals, waffles and pancakes are at the top of my kids’ favorites list, and sure – I weave them in throughout the week among oatmeal, Cream of Wheat and scrambled eggs.

After every meal, we have fruit; or a few times a week the kids can choose yogurt. We all know yogurt is a dairy item, right? But we also consider it in the fruit category, as in:

Kids: “What kind of fruit do we have?”

Me: “Yogurt.”

Because technically it has fruit as an ingredient, right?  A little bit?

I was surprised at what little fruit most yogurts contain, until I was given some coupons to try Yoplait Fruitful and I saw how much is packed inside. (And guess what, you can print a coupon, too).

Yoplait Blueberry

Yoplait Fruitful has 1/3 cup of real fruit in each serving. When I peeled off the lid for Carlie to try the Blueberry flavor, I was surprised at how rich and deep the color was from all those blueberries! Our family loves blueberries, picked fresh from the vine at a local u-pick farm, baked in a pie, in a sweet bread – blueberry flavored anything.

To be honest, I had a bit of a hard time finding¬†Yoplait Fruitful because it’s a new product and only available in the Midwest right now, ya know, because …

Midwest, where Tasty grows best.

I found it at Meijer, and it happened to be on sale for $0.99. Applying the printable coupon to the sale price makes it just $0.69!

Here are a few more need-to-knows about Yoplait Fruitful:

  • There are 6 flavors available: Strawberry, Blueberry, Mango-Pineapple-Orange, Cherries & Red Berries, Peach and Pineapple.
  • Yoplait Fruitful contains NO artificial flavors or sweeteners.
  • Take a look at the product finder to find a location near you (duh, wish I had known that first!).

And because she’s so sweet (or maybe because she’s “fruity” LOL), Mallory chose Mango, Pineapple & Orange for her breakfast “fruit”:

I am all about friuty yogurt. Here’s my question- is it chunky? Because my kids only do “smooth” yogurt. They are rather particular :)

Well, it kind of is chunky because of the smallish bits of real fruit. I do like that it’s not a fruit-on-the-bottom container, it’s blended throughout.
