Lay out clothes the night before and pack a special lunch for the first day! :) A prayer and big smiles all around to finish it off.

I try to get my son excited about seeing his friends. He was also excited that they were having salisbury steak for lunch the first day!

For myself, I always try and think “at the end of the day, it’s over” or “at the end of the day, I’m home.” Change it to fit your scenario…but the idea is that it’ll be over with at some point. It’ll all be fine.

I think the best tip is to get a good night’s sleep the night before.

Getting my daughter ready to go away to college was a lot of fun, for both of us, picking out new accessories for school campus living. The day we moved her in was busy and after we were done, with most of the work, we had a nice lunch and went to the local store to pick up other necessities. When we had everything put away, we took a walk around campus to locate where all of her classes were. This got her off to a great start and really helped keeping the axiety down for both of us!!

Make sure everything is laid out the night before…keeps you from being stressed out trying to find your matching shoe 5 minutes before you have to walk out the door!
